How to make phone calls avoiding paying for 0870, 0845 numbers etc

about how to make UK calls using normal "geographical" numbers instead of the 0870, 0845 etc numbers. If you are on a payment
plan that gives you free calls to normal landlines but not to "08.." numbers this is what you should do...
