We got back to Snowdrop after a few years gap-heart failure had limited my travel options in 2022 and we decided that a Winter holiday on Exmoor was going to be our end of year holiday, staying for twelve nights seven in Porlock Weir we were then lucky as were able to get five nights in Exford at Snowdrop. Its a wonderful setting and the cottage offers all you require for two people and your dogs. Its so very quiet that you forget the world outside and just relax which we needed and took full advantage of. The area affords some great places to eat and the people of the area are truly welcoming. The snow still on the ground gave us a magical backdrop for the majority of out holiday and the rain cleared it away and gave us some dry time to get to Dunster Beach and let the dogs have a good run on the sand. Dave and Michele are fantastic hosts and they are old friends and welcoming to return guest and knowledge providers for information for new guests. The cottages get booked quickly so take the option to get a booking in as soon as you can for a brilliant base camp for your time on Exmoor

It all worked very well and felt safe too in this strange on going Covid-19 environment.”

Tip:
“With an early 9am departure due to Covid on final day we booked breakfast at Exford tea rooms for leisurely last meal after packing and clearing cottage. Very good.

Fantastic week exploring Exmoor with our two horses. Comfortable accommodation for both ourselves and horses. Lots of varied routes possible with little to no road work. Stunning scenery. Michele and Dave very friendly and helpful.

“We have just had our fourth holiday stay at Court Farm and we cannot imagine a more beautiful and natural, and convenient, setting from which to explore this wonderful moorland and coastal areas. Court Farm and our Hosts always make us feel at home from the moment we arrive. We will always return for our holidays for as long as we are able. Grateful thanks to David, Michelle, and all their family. ”

“Must visits: Valley of Rocks at Lynton, Porlock Weir, Dunster Castle and Selworthy village, Cottage and Tea Rooms. Watersmeet.”

“Really enjoyed our stay in Rowan and can’t wait to stay again in October. Some of the crockery is chipped and could do with replacing.”

Tip: “Tea rooms and walk from Malmsmead is lovely. Food at Woods restaurant and bar in Dulverton was fantastic.”

“We had a fantastic week here, Dave and Michelle go out of their way to be helpful and the location is absolutely stunning. Can’t recommend highly enough! “

Guest From Longstowe

Fantastic place to go with dogs, plenty of walks in the area, and the location is far enough away but not remote.

Tips for other travelers
Crown pub serves good food.
Butchers in Dulverton is excellent.
Tar steps is a lovely walk, up onside of the river and return down the other.

The owners of the cottages are great people. The cottages themselves are in great condition. Exford is a lovely village.

Tips for other travellers
Bring your hiking boots and waterproofs as there are lots of great if challenging walks to do in the local area.
Would recommend to others.

Our stay was perfect and we even extended by another 2 day’s! Nothing was too much trouble for David and his wife and they made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. We are hoping to visit again later this year as we left so much of beautiful Exmoor undiscovered. Thanks so much, we will see you again soon.

A return visit to this lovely farm, we rented all 3 cottages and brought the family. They all enjoyed it as much as we had on our previous visit. Once again Dave and his family couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming. These are great well equipped cottages, perfectly located for exploring Exmoor.

Having your own secure garden is perfect for the dogs and all 3 cottages are kitted out to accommodate them also. However if you aren’t travelling with dogs don’t be put off – the cottages are immaculately cleaned and have no “doggy” smell – you honestly wouldn’t no anyone else’s dog had ever been in residence.

There are so many walks directly from the farm and Exford with its two lovely pubs is only a few minutes walk along the river footpath. We were blessed with lovely weather so could really enjoy the location with family BBQ’s relaxing in the garden overlooking the river with a cold local cider. We will definitely be back and there is still more of Exmoor to explore.

Again another great holiday at Court Farm (Snowdrop Cottage), with the Binks family, glorious weather, any rain that fell fell at night, plenty of ponies on Winsford hill, the dogs enjoyed putting pheasants up in the bracket and gorse, we visited Tarr Steps had lunch at the restaurant, Horner Woods with its excellent tea rooms, Heddon Valley with lunch at The Hunters Inn, cant wait to get back to Court Farm again next year.
